Introduction

Welcome to Time Management for IT Students. This course is built as a step-by-step plan — each lesson adds one practical habit for college and placement prep.

Lesson 1 is your roadmap: what you will do in each lesson and the three words you will use all week (Must · Grow · Recover).

Why This Topic Matters

Interviewers ask how you handle deadlines and side projects. This course gives you a clear weekly system you can explain in one minute — and use every semester.

Real-Life Example

Ananya (Vizag, third year) was busy every evening but placement prep barely moved. She started with Lesson 1’s four lists, then followed each lesson in order. Within two weeks the same hours produced visible progress on IT Vizag and assignments.

How it fits together

Your six-lesson plan:

  1. Sort your tasks (this lesson)
  2. Plan the week on your calendar
  3. Build one college-day template
  4. Write a daily 1-3-5 list
  5. Run a 45-minute focus sprint in your Grow block
  6. Sketch a 12-week placement timeline when you need it

Three labels for the whole course: Must (college deadlines), Grow (career skills), Recover (sleep and rest). Every lesson uses the same words.

Must = college work with a real deadline.

Grow = career work (IT Vizag lessons, projects, resume, interviews).

Recover = sleep, food, walk, friends — not optional.

Not this week = tasks that are guilt, not deadlines. Write them on a separate list and ignore until next Sunday — do not mix them into Must.

Your action

Your action today (15 minutes):

  1. Open notes on your phone.
  2. Write four headings: Must · Grow · Recover · Not this week.
  3. List every task under the right heading (messy is fine).
  4. Circle your best focus time (morning / afternoon / night).

This lesson: lists only. Lesson 2: you will place these on your weekly calendar.

Expected Output

Four lists (Must, Grow, Recover, Not this week) plus your best focus time noted.

Practice Problems

Easy — Problem 1

Write three takeaways from "Lesson 1 — Your Course Roadmap" in your own words.

Medium — Problem 2

Explain how "Lesson 1 — Your Course Roadmap" helps a B.Tech fresher in Vizag or remote IT roles.

Mini Assignment

Apply one concrete idea from "Lesson 1 — Your Course Roadmap" this week — notes, a mock task, or with a study partner. Then open the resume builder (/career/resume) and add one bullet under Experience or Projects describing what you did.

Lesson Summary

Lesson 1 = sort your load. Lessons 2–6 add the calendar, daily list, focus sprint, and placement timeline — same Must / Grow / Recover labels every time.
